Rules for using the platform

Effective date: May 12, 2026  ·  Applies to the U-Move iOS application

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the U-Move iOS application (“U-Move,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By creating an account or using U-Move, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

1. About U-Move

U-Move is a peer-to-peer marketplace that connects clients who need moving or labor assistance (“Clients”) with individuals who provide those services (“U-Movers”). U-Move is a platform only; we do not employ U-Movers, direct the manner of their work, or guarantee job availability for either party.

U-Movers are independent individuals, not employees or agents of U-Move. U-Move is not a moving company and does not provide moving services directly.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create a U-Move account or use the app in any capacity. By using U-Move, you represent and warrant that you are 18 or older.

U-Move is currently available only in the United States.

3. Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You may not share your account with another person or impersonate another user.

You must provide accurate information when creating your account. Providing false information, including false identity, false credentials, or a false role, is grounds for immediate account termination.

You may delete your account at any time from the Profile tab in the app or by emailing support@umoveapp.com.

4. Client Rules

As a Client, you agree to:

  • Post only accurate, good-faith job descriptions, including honest address information, realistic scope, and correct move dates.
  • Not post jobs for illegal activities or services U-Move does not support.
  • Confirm job completion honestly. Marking a job complete when it has not been performed is a violation of these Terms.
  • Provide a valid payment method when booking. Your card is authorized (a hold is placed) when you book and charged after you confirm the job is complete.
  • Only open a dispute if you have a genuine, good-faith concern about the service provided.

5. U-Mover Rules

As a U-Mover, you agree to:

  • Only accept jobs you are genuinely able and willing to complete.
  • Arrive on time and perform the work as described in the job posting.
  • Not misrepresent your skills, physical capabilities, or equipment availability.
  • Mark job status transitions (start, pending completion) accurately and promptly.
  • Receive your earnings through the platform via Stripe Connect after the Client confirms job completion.
  • Not solicit Clients off-platform or request payment outside the app in ways that circumvent the agreed quote.

6. Payments & Fees

Payments are processed through Stripe. When a Client books a job, their card is authorized: a temporary hold is placed for the quoted amount, but no charge occurs at that time. The card is charged only after the Client confirms the job is complete. Quote amounts shown before booking are estimates and the final charge reflects the quoted job total.

U-Movers receive their earnings through Stripe Connect after the Client confirms completion. The platform fee shown in the quote breakdown is retained by U-Move.

Card details and payout bank details are collected and stored by Stripe, not by U-Move. By booking or accepting jobs you also agree to Stripe’s terms as applicable.

If a job is disputed, U-Move may delay capture, release the hold, or withhold payout while the dispute is investigated. Refunds and payment-dispute outcomes are determined through the in-app dispute process and our support team.

7. Job Standards & Safety

Both Clients and U-Movers are responsible for their own safety during a job. U-Move is not an emergency service. For any emergency, call 911.

Before a U-Mover can accept jobs, they must verify their identity through our identity partner (Stripe Identity), consent to background screening, and be approved through U-Move's mover review process. U-Move does not screen or conduct background checks on Clients. Verification and screening reduce risk but cannot guarantee the conduct of any user. You use the platform and arrange services at your own risk, and we strongly encourage both parties to exercise good judgment before meeting in person.

If you experience a safety concern during or after a job, contact us at support@umoveapp.com.

8. Prohibited Conduct

U-Move has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behavior. Content or conduct that is harassing, threatening, hateful, sexually explicit, violent, discriminatory, or otherwise objectionable is prohibited, and the accounts responsible for it are removed.

You may not use U-Move to:

  • Harass, threaten, stalk, or intimidate other users.
  • Post or send objectionable content: hateful, discriminatory, sexually explicit, violent, or abusive material, whether in job descriptions, photos, profiles, reviews, or any other field.
  • Post fraudulent job listings or accept jobs you do not intend to complete.
  • Attempt to access another user's account or manipulate job records.
  • Submit fake reviews or coordinate with others to inflate or damage a mover's rating.
  • Use the platform for any illegal purpose.
  • Reverse-engineer, scrape, or otherwise interfere with the app or its backend.

Any user may report objectionable content or an abusive user from inside the app, and may block another user at any time. We review every report and act on it: objectionable content is removed and the accounts responsible are suspended or permanently banned. Violations may result in immediate account suspension or permanent ban without notice.

9. User Content

You retain ownership of content you submit to U-Move (job descriptions, photos, and reviews). By submitting content, you grant U-Move a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, display, and use that content solely to operate the platform.

You are responsible for the accuracy and appropriateness of all content you post. U-Move may remove content that violates these Terms at our discretion.

10. Termination

U-Move may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violations of these Terms, fraudulent activity, or behavior that endangers other users.

You may terminate your account at any time by using the Delete Account option in the app or by contacting support@umoveapp.com.

11. Disclaimers

U-Move is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the app will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free of security vulnerabilities.

U-Move does not guarantee job availability, mover quality, client reliability, or the accuracy of quote estimates. All estimates are provided for informational purposes only.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, U-Move and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the platform, including but not limited to property damage, personal injury, payment disputes, or loss of income resulting from jobs arranged through the app.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from use of U-Move shall not exceed the greater of $100 or the amounts you paid to U-Move in the 12 months preceding the claim.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. If changes are material, we will notify you via the app or by email before the changes take effect. Continued use of U-Move after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
