U-Move (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect when you use the U-Move iOS app, how we use it, what we share, and your rights as a user.
This is a plain-language summary intended to be transparent and readable.

| Email address | Used for account sign-in and support contact | Yes | App functionality, account management |

| Device location (website only) | The U-Move iOS app does not use device location. It never asks for location permission and cannot read where you are; addresses are typed in or placed by dragging a pin on a map. On the U-Move website only, you may optionally tap “Use my current location” to fill in an address, which asks your browser for your position at that moment. It is used to fill the address field and is not stored continuously or tracked in the background. | Website only, when you tap it | Address entry |
| Payment information | Card details are entered directly into Stripe’s secure payment form and processed by Stripe. U-Move never sees or stores full card numbers. U-Mover payout details (bank account) are collected by Stripe Connect. | Yes (held by Stripe) | Payment processing |
| Identity verification | U-Movers verify their identity through Stripe Identity (government ID and selfie, collected and stored by Stripe). U-Move stores only the verification result. | Yes (held by Stripe) | Safety and trust |
| Usage / crash data | None. U-Move does not include an analytics or crash-reporting SDK: no Firebase Analytics, no Crashlytics, no third-party tracker | Not collected | Not applicable |
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect only to operate and improve U-Move:
- Account management
- Creating your account, signing you in, and keeping your profile up to date.
- Job matching
- Showing your posted job to available U-Movers, and showing available jobs to U-Movers in the area.
- Notifications
- Sending push alerts when a mover accepts your job, when a job status changes, or when a dispute is updated.
- Reviews
- Allowing clients to leave star ratings and written reviews after a job is completed, and displaying those reviews on mover profiles.
- Dispute resolution
- Investigating job disputes opened by clients or flagged by movers, and following up via email.
- Support
- Responding to questions, account issues, and safety reports sent to our support email.
4. Information We Do Not Collect
- Full card or bank account numbers: these are entered directly into Stripe’s secure forms and are never stored on U-Move’s servers
- Any device location from the iOS app: the app requests no location permission at all, and cannot read your position in the foreground or the background
- Background location from the website: the optional “Use my current location” button reads your position once, only when you tap it
- Contacts from your address book
- Health or fitness data
- Browsing history or search history outside the app
- Any data used to track you across third-party apps or websites
U-Move does not engage in cross-app or cross-website tracking.
5. App Permissions
U-Move requests the following iOS permissions. Each permission is optional where noted and is only used for the stated purpose.
| Permission | When requested | How it is used |
|---|---|---|
| Camera | When a client chooses to take a photo, or to record a walkthrough video for an instant AI quote, during job posting | Captures photos of items or spaces to attach to a job listing, or records a short walkthrough video |
| Microphone | When a client records a walkthrough video (iOS captures an audio track with any video) | Not used. The audio stays on your device: only still frames from the video are uploaded to build your quote, never the video file or its audio |
| Photo Library | When a client chooses to upload an existing photo | Selects photos from your library to attach to a job listing or set a profile picture |
| Push Notifications | After sign-up, the system will prompt for permission | Sends alerts for job acceptances, status changes, and dispute updates |
All permissions can be revoked at any time in your iPhone Settings → U-Move.
6. Payments
Payments are processed securely through Stripe. When a client books a job, their card is authorized (a hold is placed) and it is charged only after the client confirms the job is complete. All amounts shown before booking are estimates.
Card details are entered directly into Stripe’s payment form and are never transmitted to or stored on U-Move’s servers. U-Movers receive their earnings through Stripe Connect, and their payout details are likewise held by Stripe. No Apple Pay or in-app purchase integration is present in the app.
7. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Completed job records are retained to support dispute resolution and review integrity. When you delete your account, your profile and personal data are permanently deleted from our database and your Firebase Authentication account is permanently deleted. Payment transaction records are retained by Stripe as required for financial compliance.
U-Move does not collect analytics or crash-report data, so there is no usage profile to retain. Operational logs generated by Firebase and Stripe while serving your requests are retained by those providers under their own data-retention policies.
8. Account Deletion
You can delete your account at any time, directly inside the app:
- Open U-Move and go to the Profile tab.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.
- Confirm the prompt. Your profile is permanently deleted and you are signed out.
If the app asks you to sign out and sign back in before deleting, this is a security step required by Firebase. Sign out, sign back in, and try again.
You may also request account deletion by emailing support@umoveapp.com.
9. Children’s Privacy
U-Move is not directed at children under the age of 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If we learn that we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact support@umoveapp.com.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. If changes are material, we will notify users via the app or by email before the changes take effect. Continued use of U-Move after a policy update constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
